What is Corporate Challenge?
Since 1986, the Outward Bound Trust of Hong Kong has organised the Boundabout (now renamed as Corporate Challenge) every year to raise funds which help to ensure that no young person, who is determined to explore and develop their potential, is denied the chance of taking an Outward Bound course due to financial or social difficulties.
Modelled after the UK game show "It's a Knockout", the Corporate Challenge event gathers teams representing Hong Kong's leading companies, to compete in games specially designed for fun and team building.
OUR MISSION : The funds raised in Corporate Challenge will support the ongoing work of Outwrd Bound Hong Kong to maintain high quality training programmes and provide financial assistance to deserving applicants.
The event in 2007 raised nearly 1 million for underprivileged youth. All participants have attained precious knowledge and experience in skills like team building, leadership and problems solving skills by working through the games designed by Outward Bound instructors.
PARTICIPANTS: It is free and open to the public and corporations. More than 1,500 people participated in the Outward Bound Corporate Challenge 2007. 50 teams representing Hong Kong's leading professional organisations, corporations and government bodies were in the competition.
Outward Bound Hong Kong
Founded in Hong Kong in 1970, Outward Bound Hong Kong is the operating arm of The Outward Bound Trust of Hong Kong Limited, a registered charity and non-profit making organisation specialising in outdoor experiential education. It is also a member of Outward Bound International, the world leader and originator of "outdoor experiential education" operating more than 50 centres in over 35 countries.
The mission of Outward Bound is to help people discover and develop their potential to care for
themselves, others and the world around them through challenging experiences in unfamiliar settings.
Every year, thousands of people in Hong Kong participate in Outward Bound courses to challenge
themselves mentally and physically, as well as to develop the skills and attitudes so vital to our
community.
Outward Bound Hong Kong depends heavily on contributions from individuals, charitable foundations and corporations for maintaining high quality training and providing financial subsidies for deserving applicants.
