This programme in the Philippines provides an excellent opportunity for young people to build on earlier growth and learning from other Outward Bound courses, and is an ideal ‘extension’ programme for participants who have already completed a youth adventure course with Outward Bound.
While this course takes place in the pristine waters of Cebu, in the Philippines, it is by no means a tourist or holiday experience. This is every bit an Outward Bound course – and then some, as it has an extra element of cultural immersion and exposure that is not possible to achieve within Hong Kong.
The degree of challenges and difficulty, combined with some very engaging, committing and unique cultural experiences make this invaluable for ‘well-to-do kids’ from Hong Kong. In particular, the immersion programme in a local village, as well as a service project within a local school in a different location, are both incredible value-shaping experiences.
Added to this are a different mode of transport (outrigger canoes), in a very marketable location (the crystal clear waters of Cebu), plus a wilderness hiking expedition, make this an attractive option for parents of participants who have already sent their kids to Outward Bound previously.
