Day 1 - 26 July 2009
On arrival in Nairobi you will be transferred to a small home and farm near the Ngong Hills. Over a cup of Kenyan tea or coffee your professional guide, Gordon Church, will give you a briefing on your safari. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 2 - 27 July 2009
After breakfast transfer to Wilson airport to catch the Airkenya scheduled flight departing at 10.00hrs. On arrival at Musiara airstrips, in the Mara at 10.45hrs, you will be met and transferred to our private mobile tented to familiarise ourselves with the horses.

Day 3 - 28 July 2009
We explore the area on horseback. The riverine forest is home to a variety of tropical birds including the rare Ross¡¦s turaco and the concentration of game is breathtaking. A large campfire and extra vigilant syces (grooms) keep watch at night to make sure that nocturnal predators remain at a safe distance.

Day 4 - 29 July 2009
Our first full day in the saddle takes us along the southern bank of the Mara River, looking out for crocodiles and large pods of hippo that frequent this area. We traverse the Koiyaki plains viewing the herds of impala, white-bearded wildebeest, Coke¡¦s heartebeest and topi that inhabit the neightbouring scrubland. On arrival we picket our horses and enjoy dinner around the campfire.

Day 5 - 30 July 2009
A day of rest for the horses, we set off in our customised 4x4 safari vehicles to photograph the wildlife at close quarters. We can expect to see leopard, silver-backed jackal, impala, waterbuck, spotted hyena, cheetah and spotlight, to search for illusive nocturnal animals.

Day 6 - 31 July 2009
After an early breakfast we saddle up and trek across the open savanna, interspersed with acacia and leleshwa (wild sage) woodland before returning to camp for lunch. Throughout the safari we have several opportunities to learn about, and, most importantly, enjoy the company of the Masai - a tribe of semi-nomadic people to whom the land belongs.

Day 7 - 1 Aug 2009
After saying "Goodbye" to the horses and camp staff, we return to Nairobi by road, driving through the trading town of Narok, and along the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Day rooms are booked so that on may shower and relax before international flights home. For those interested in shopping, a trip to find East African gemstones, bronze sculptures, Africana jewellery and other curios can be arranged.
