34 all thrill seekers, brave climbers, entrepreneurs, educators, and individuals from all walks of life descending Spider-man style from the 1,000 feet iconic One Island East building to raise funds for the underprivileged to join Outward Bound courses that help to bring about their personal growth.
We cheered and celebrated adventures as so many dug deep and displayed courage, descending from the 69th story of the One Island East.
After many months of preparation we were blessed with the perfect day which allowed all our abseilers to make it down with some incredible views and memories that will last for a lifetime.
Outward Bound Hong Kong’s first descending challenge in Hong Kong attracted thrill seekers, brave climbers, entrepreneurs, educators, individuals from all walks of life and with some of the city’s corporate giants getting involved. Ashley Alder, chief executive of the Securities and Futures Commission; Alain Li, chief executive of Richemont Asia Pacific, climbers from Switzerland, and Ada Tsang Yin-hung, a teacher who in May became the first Hong Kong woman to conquer Mount Everest, took the plunge in this fundraising event.
Everyone who steps up to descend in HK Vertical 1000 discovers firsthand what Outward Bound Hong Kong participants discover every day - we believe that there is more in you than you know!
Everyone arrived at the landing point with smiles that extended from ear-to-ear and the subsequent feedback has confirmed that everyone njoyed this thrilling and uplifting experience
We raised $2,900,000!
Thank you to all those who descend, fundraised, volunteered, watched, and donated. Every dollar raised empowers young people to experience Outward Bound’s life-changing outdoor leadership and character development programmes, perseverance, courage, and teamwork skills in the face of profound challenge. Without your support and willingness to attempt this bold challenge it could never have been the success that it most certainly was. Being able to support others in the future will only extend that success.
