COURSE OVERVIEW

The Parent & Kid: Wild Adventures Team Up! program is a unique 2-day, 1-night journey designed for parents and children (aged 7-10) to embark on a shared experiential learning adventure. Located at our OBHK Tai Mong Tsai Base, this multi-challenge experience focuses on strengthening positive relationships, fostering mutual trust, explore nature and building confidence & resilience together. Through engaging outdoor activities and guided reflections, parents will discover effective ways to support their child's growth, while children develop confidence, independence, and a strong "resilience bank" to face future challenges.

  • Parents and children (aged 7-10) eager to strengthen their bond and build resilience as a team.

  • Families looking for a unique shared outdoor learning experience that goes beyond everyday routines.

  • Parents wanting to learn effective ways to support their child's independence and confidence in a practical setting.

  • Children excited to explore the outdoors, take on challenges, and grow alongside their parent.

  • No prior outdoor or swimming experience required.

  • Suitable for individual sign‑ups and small school groups.

Our instructors are AEE‑accredited and safety‑trained to deliver fun, well‑supported adventures for children as young as 7–10.

What will you & your kids experience?

This multi-challenge programme engages parent and child pairs in a variety of outdoor activities designed to promote trust, communication, and mutual support as they team up. Participants will journey through challenges, learning to collaborate and overcome obstacles together in a safe and encouraging environment.

  • Trust & Support Challenges: Activities designed to build mutual reliance and communication within the parent-child pair and the wider group.

  • Water-based Activities: Engaging tasks on the water that promote teamwork and new skill acquisition.

  • Positive Relationship Workshop: Guided sessions for parents to enhance supportive communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Signature Challenges:

    • Parent and Child Blindfold Walk: Navigating challenges relying purely on trust and verbal guidance.

    • Jetty Jump: A supervised leap of faith to conquer fears and celebrate achievement.

3. Comprehensive risk assessments and emergency protocols

4. Robust child safeguarding policies and ongoing staff training

5. Programs aligned with standards from the Outward Bound International network and overseen by an independent External Risk Management Committee, with institutional accreditation from the Association for Experiential Education (AEE).

IMPORTANT: Insurance Information

Please note that personal insurance is not included in our course fees. While not mandatory, we highly recommend that participants arrange their own comprehensive travel or personal accident insurance for the entire duration of the course. This policy should cover medical expenses (beyond public healthcare), personal liability, and emergency evacuation, especially considering the outdoor nature of our programs.

Payment Method: Credit card, FPS, bank transfer.

Sponsorship: Eligible for Working Family and Student Financial Assistance

General Refund Policy: 

  • If for personal/ family circumstances you need to cancel and refund your program, after the deduction of the HKD1,000 administration charge, you can obtain a conditional refund according to the following conditions:

    • The remaining balance will be refunded providing written notice is received at least 30 working days prior to program commencement.  

    • 50% of the balance will be refunded for written notice received 20 working days prior to program commencement.  

    • No refund will be made if written notice of cancellation is received less than 20 working days before program commencement. 

  • OBHK reserves the right to cancel a program for various reasons. OBHK may also refuse participation in the program at its sole discretion, determines to be incapable of meeting the rigors or requirements for participating in the program: 

  • A full refund or an alternative program will be offered. There is no administration charge incurred.

FAQ

Q: Is previous experience required?

A: No — the course is designed for beginners and builds skills progressively.

 

Q: What happens in bad weather?

A: Activities adapt to conditions; safety is prioritised. Some sessions may move to alternative land-based options.

Q: Are instructors first-aid trained?

A: Yes — all lead instructors hold current first-aid and water-safety qualifications.

Q: Can my child take medication?

A: Yes — disclose and label medication on the medical form; staff will store/administer as required.
