The Outward Bound Multi-Adventure Race is one of Outward Bound Hong Kong (OBHK)’s signature annual fundraising events. It brings together participants for a unique race that combines water and land challenges – with the purpose to raise funds for a charitable cause.

The race is more than just a physical challenge - it’s a chance for you to push your limits, build resilience and strengthen connections within your community.  Whether you're racing with friends, colleagues, or family, it's a day to create unforgettable memories and share moments of fun and achievement together.

Awards

Challenger Award - Presented to top 3 teams in each category.
Outstanding Fundraising Award - Awarded to teams that raise an amount exceeding the required minimum donation by at least HK$5,000.

Registration Fee includes

Race Equipment - Kayak, paddle, and life jacket

Race Essentials - Number bib and pins

Souvenir - Race top

Finisher Rewards - Finisher towel or medal, and a digital e-certificate

*Finisher medals are only available for children participant in the parent-child route; other participants will receive a finisher towel.

Minimum Donation

Fundraising is a fundamental part of the Mult-Adventure Race. Each registered team (except Corporate Teams) is required to raise a minimum donation amount. Proceeds will support Outward Bound's mission to #FutureProofYOUth by providing high-quality outdoor experiential education.

Donation Platform - The platform will remain open until 14 Nov 2025, and we encourage you to continue raising additional donations during this period.

Important Note - Teams that fail to submit the minimum donation amount by 12 Sep 2025 may be disqualified from participation.

Tax-Deductible Receipts - Issued for donations of HK$100 or above.

Once an application is accepted, no refunds or transfers will be issued for registration fees. However, we will make every effort to arrange for participants to receive any prepared items, including the race top and medal finisher medal.

Adverse Weather Conditions

Event Cancellation due to severe weather - If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or higher is hoisted at any time from 12 noon on the day before the race, the event will be cancelled. If Typhoon Signal No. 3, Amber/Red/Black Rainstorm Warning, Thunderstorm Warning, or Landslide Warning is in effect two hours before the event on race day, the race may be cancelled.
Weather warnings during the race - If any of the above inclement weather or hazard warnings are issued after the race has started, the Race Director reserves the right to alter the race course or distance, adjust event arrangements and stop the race.

Force Majeure

Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Organiser, or in the case of a force majeure resulting in the Event being cancelled, no refund of the registration fee will be made. The Organiser shall have no other responsibilities and/or liabilities in relation to such cancellation.

Force majeure includes and is not limited to the Organiser being unable to perform its obligations or organise or hold the Event due to fire, flood, earthquake, or other severe natural disaster or act of God; or due to protest, riot, civil disobedience, uprising, march, revolt, assembly, demonstration, occupation, commotion, mass gathering, war, insurrection, sabotage, pandemic, epidemic, or terrorist attack or the likelihood of such event or act. A reduction of the approved quota by the Hong Kong SAR Government by the Hong Kong SAR Government which are more stringent than those already approved by the Hong Kong SAR Government shall be deemed to be a Force Majeure.

Withdrawal Notification

Withdrawal requests must be submitted via email to fundraising@outwardbound.org.hk as soon as possible if any team wishes to withdraw from the event.
Once an application is accepted, no refunds or transfers will be issued for registration fees, regardless of the withdrawal reason.
